Over the years the Pirates of Penzance & Newlyn RFC have had many true stalwarts, who have been cherished volunteers. Similar such people are, of course, the backbone of numerous groups and associations about the country.

At the Pirates general voluntary help to undertake maintenance needs has always been an ongoing requirement, and most people have skills that they can apply. By doing so they all deserve that rewarding feeling of satisfaction for jobs undertaken.

With all of this in mind, why not help at the Pirates on Sunday mornings from 9 – 11am, or perhaps on another chosen day (they might vary to suit what works best) during the week.

All of this provides a chance to meet up with friends and perhaps former playing colleagues, and to enjoy your favourite cuppa……you might even get a ‘biccy’!

The next session will be on Sunday, whilst watch out on social media for the chosen day next week. In the meantime, take note of the images displayed, just of a small number of stalwarts, some of whom have provided truly considerable voluntary help for 20 years and more.

So, get involved to proudly and helpfully do your bit, as a true Pirate!
