Penzance & Newlyn RFC is immensely proud to announce that youth players Harry Murrish, Will McAtee, Jacob Wills, Jack Small, and Kaiden Walsh have been officially selected for the Exeter Chiefs Under-16 Academy pathway.

Their selection follows a gruelling and highly competitive four-week pre-season programme designed to test the region's elite youth talent. Of the many players competing for places, only 14 players were selected to represent Cornwall. These players will now join the cohort selected from Devon to form the final Under-16 Academy squad.

To have five Penzance & Newlyn players secure one-third of the Cornwall allocation is an unprecedented achievement for the club's Mini & Junior section.

This milestone reflects not only the dedication and commitment shown by the boys but also the outstanding work of their long-term coaching team: Rhodri McAtee, Martin Murrish, Rob Wills, Ben Martin, Mark George, Steve Walsh and Luke Johnson. Their continued guidance and support have played a vital role in preparing the players both physically and mentally for the demands of a Premiership-level academy selection process.

"To watch Harry, Will, Jacob, Jack and Kaiden come through such an intense four-week selection process and secure five of the 14 available Cornwall places is incredibly rewarding," said the club Chairman Pete Whyte.
